Acts 10:38 says, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." The Bible is telling us that there is a difference between Jesus of Nazareth and Jesus Christ. This can explain the difference before and after you become born-again. Unbelievers live a life of their own but Christ lives through believers. The work of the Holy Spirit is the only evidence that Jesus is alive, and these works can be best described as seen in Isaiah Chapter 61.

It is important for you to focus on honouring the Living God because there are things that happen when you do so; which makes your walk on earth more productive, profitable, and effective; giving you great satisfaction, joy, and brings great glory to the LORD. Honour means to respect, to place premium value on something or on someone, to highly esteem something or someone, and to give someone or something the foremost place in your heart or mind.

Bitter Truth 9: By Pastor Idowu Iluyomade
For a while now, we have been learning various lessons on successful pursuits that led to marriage. Last week was remarkable, as we started a new series where some married couples shared their marriage experiences; how true the marriage vows of 'for better or worse, for richer or poorer' is, and how they have been able to hold on during challenging times.

When God created Eve and Adam saw her, he said in Genesis 2:23 “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh”; and we believe that for anyone hoping to get married, there is the bone of your bone and flesh of your flesh somewhere. There is somebody suitable/fit for you that God has planned for you. Because the Bible says in Genesis 2:22 that God brought Eve to Adam, hence, God will bring your spouse your way.

During the Passover festivals in Jerusalem, millions of people all around the world celebrate the great and mighty deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt through the Mighty hand of God. The children of Israel had been in captivity for about 430 years, and in one night, God judged all their enemies; and their story changed – the years of slavery and suffering ended. God also compensated them and gave them tremendous favour. As God judged the enemies of Israel, God will pass a sentence on all your enemies in Jesus Mighty Name. You will receive freedom from every kind of bondage or captivity, and tremendous favour shall be yours in Jesus Mighty Name.

Elijah had an encounter with the troublers of the destiny of Israel after the Israelites had gone through years of hardship in the land, and having experienced three and a half years of no rain. Elijah asked the people to make up their minds, stop sitting on the fence and decide if they wanted to go after idols or wanted to serve the Living God (1 Kings 18:21). You might be in this same state, and God is asking you today that you need to focus on the Living God. The Living God is a jealous God, and hence, you cannot say you are serving the Living God and you are running up and down; going from church to church, from one prayer mountain to another, or seeking soothsayers. You don't need all these, all you need is the Living God.

Moses was a destiny child judging by the circumstances surrounding his birth. From the plan of the devil, Moses was not supposed to have survived at birth, but God ensured he survived. At the age of 40, Moses tried to fulfil his destiny before time (he killed an Egyptian). That singular act could have terminated his life but God remained faithful to His covenant. One would have concluded that at the age of 80, there was no hope for Moses any longer, but there arose an event of the burning bush.

Luke 16:19-31 narrates the story of Lazarus and the rich man. There was a difference between Lazarus and the rich man. The rich man was nameless, but Lazarus was named (Luke 16:19-20), and this difference is so important. The rich man was not named because he did not know God, therefore, he was unknown to God, and God was not able to honour him. Men honoured the rich man, men knew him, he threw parties, but before God, he was a ‘nobody.’
